I Submitted an ETA - Why Wasn’t My Company Awarded the Ride?

Overview of why your company may not have been awarded a ride.

Rides are awarded based on a few factors related to Roundtrip's Community Logic. In most cases, rides are awarded based on the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) submission that is closest to the requested ride time. If multiple Transportation Providers submit the same ETA time which best matches the requested ride time, the ride will be awarded to the Transportation Provider who submitted their ETA first.

Let’s walk through an example to better understand how Community Logic works. Let’s say a ride is requested in Roundtrip for a 2PM pick-up. Company A submits an ETA of 2PM at 10:05AM. Company B submits an ETA of 2PM at 10:07AM. Company C submits an ETA of 2:30PM at 10:02AM. Company A would be awarded the ride. This is because:

  • Even though Company C responded first, they had a later ETA than Company A and Company B.
  • Company A and B had the best ETA submissions compared to the requested ride time of 2PM. Because they both submitted the same ETA, the ride would then go to the company that submitted their ETA first. Company A would be awarded the ride as a result.

If your company submitted an ETA and was not awarded the ride, it's likely because another Transportation Provider offered a more preferable ETA or submitted an identical ETA faster. Dispatchers in your company will receive notifications through their preferred method when a ride is assigned to your company or when a ride, for which your company has submitted an ETA, is not awarded.
