I Booked a Rideshare Ride - What Happens Next?
An overview of what steps take place once a ride is booked in Roundtrip.
Once you've scheduled a ride through Roundtrip, the process for getting the ride claimed and fulfilled sets into motion. For an overview of what happens after a ride is successfully booked, see below:
Journey of a Rideshare Ride
Since rideshare is an on-demand service, drivers aren't assigned ahead of time. Instead, the ride launches and begins a search for the nearest available driver a few minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. Depending on your organization's settings, the ride may launch 5-20 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.
The following graphic provides an overview of the events that occur during a rideshare ride's lifecycle:

Monitoring a Rideshare Ride
With these rides, Roundtrip receives real-time updates from our rideshare partners, Lyft and Uber. Consequently, you and your rider will stay updated at every step of the journey. There are a few ways to monitor the status of a rideshare ride:
Monitoring Status In-App
In the Roundtrip Portal, you can track the current ride status on the Trips Page and the Trip Details Page. Both pages automatically update with the relevant status badge, keeping you informed about the current status. For a comprehensive look at the different status badges, please refer to this article.
On the Trip Details Page, you can see detailed information about the ride. Once a driver has been assigned, the page will update to include a photo of the driver, their contact information, and a description of their vehicle. The map feature lets you track the driver's location—watch the blue dot move from the pickup to the drop-off locations in real-time.

Ride Notifications
Notifications are a crucial feature to keep both you and your Rider updated about the current ride status. It's highly recommended to enable Rider notifications for rideshare rides. This way, they can receive alerts about the driver’s description, estimated arrival time, and actual arrival.
Reviewing Rideshare Activities In-App
For rideshare rides specifically, you can use the “Activity” tab on the Trip Details page to get real time insights into key events that occur throughout the lifecycle of a ride.

This tab offers greater visibility into events such as ride edits, driver actions, and notifications, all with the simple click of a button.
