Venue Mapping Locations
Overview on how to map locations for frequently used entrances or zones.
Venue Mapping enables your organization to specify precise pick-up and drop-off locations for riders. This feature is particularly useful in scenarios where a single address has multiple entrances or "zones.”
- For example, one hospital may have multiple entrances (ED/Main Entrance/Cancer Center etc.) for their overall facility address. Once mapped in Roundtrip, these locations/zones can be selected at the time of booking by the Care Coordinator.
How to Tell if a Location is Venue Mapped
In Step 2 of the Booking Flow, a user must input the pick-up and drop-off locations for a ride. When selecting the locations, a pop-up window will appear for the Care Coordinator to review saved locations or add a new location.
Locations pre-loaded by Roundtrip will appear with the text “This is a location added by your facility.” Locations that are venue-mapped also contain a zone name such as “Back Entrance” or “ED Entrance” as shown below:

How to Create a Venue Mapped Location
In order to venue map a location, you will first need to gather the following information:
- Facility Name: The physical building name or nickname that you want to map (i.e. East Hospital).
- Full Street Address: Identify the address you would like us to map (i.e. East Hospital - 500 Center Blvd, Baltimore, Maryland, 21201).
- Entrance/Zone Information:
- Name: The name that should be used for the door/entrance you need mapped. Use names your staff will immediately recognize (i.e.. ED Main Entrance, Outpatient Entrance, etc).
- Multiple zones can exist for a single address. (i.e. East Hospital - 500 Center Blvd - ED Entrance)
- Location: The latitude and longitude of the entrance or zone (i.e. East Hospital - 500 Center Blvd - ED Entrance - 44.02131/-92.48218).

How to Find the Zone’s Location - Via Google Maps Coordinates
Using Google Maps, you can easily find the exact coordinates for the zone you need mapped. This is the recommended method for finding the zone location for venue mapping:
- Go to https://www.google.com/maps.
- Type in the address of the facility’s building.
- Toggle on the Satellite View.
- Zoom in on the map to find the exact location that needs to be mapped. This should be the location where drivers need to arrive for the zone.

- Right-click on the location and copy the numeric values that appear in the menu. These are the latitude and longitude coordinates.

- Provide these coordinates along with the requested information above to Roundtrip for the location to be mapped.
How to Find the Zone’s Location - Via Photo of the Zone
If you are unable to locate the zone’s coordinates using Google Maps, you can simply take a photo of the zone. Roundtrip can then use the metadata from the photo to obtain the coordinates. Follow these steps:
- Navigate to the zone location along with a mobile phone.
- Turn on location services for your mobile phone and ensure your Camera app has location enabled:
Device Type | Steps to Turn on Location |
iPhone | 1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security.
2. Ensure “Location Services” is toggled “On”.
3. Scroll down to the “Camera” app.
4. Ensure the Camera app is set to “While Using the App” and “Precise Location” is toggled “On”. |
Android | 1. Go to Settings > Location.
2. Ensure “Use Location” is toggled “On”.
3. Scroll down to the “Camera” app.
4. Ensure the Camera app is set to “While Using the App” and “Use Precise Location” is toggled “On”. |
- Once your location is enabled, take a photo from each zone you need mapped.
- Send the photos to your Roundtrip contact along with the requested information above for the location to be mapped. Roundtrip will use the embedded GPS data in your photo to identify the precise coordinates.
How to Find the Zone’s Location - Via Google Maps Image
If you are unable to locate the zone’s coordinates using Google Maps, you can simply take a screenshot of the map and identify the exact zone location. Follow these steps:
- Go to https://www.google.com/maps.
- Type in the address of the facility’s building.
- Toggle on the Satellite View.
- Take a screenshot on Google Maps of the building.
- Mark the exact zone locations on the screenshot which need to be mapped (with an arrow, circle, “X” or other icon).
- Send the photos to your Roundtrip contact along with the requested information above for the location to be mapped.
