Your Guide to Logis CAD Integrations with Roundtrip

Learn about how Roundtrip integrates with Logis for seamless ride management.

Roundtrip’s partnership with Logis delivers a seamless integration experience, designed specifically for transportation companies and their dispatch teams. Whether you’re already integrated or just exploring your options, this article will breakdown what to expect with this integration including key benefits, configuration details, and a step-by-step guide of how this integration will streamline your dispatch workflow.

Benefits of a Logis Integration

There are a host of benefits to integrating your company’s Logis instance with Roundtrip, for both healthcare providers and their transportation partners. Here are just a few:

  • Simplified, Efficient Workflows: Say goodbye to copy & pasting! This integration can follow current workflows within Logis, reducing manual effort.
  • Accelerate ETAs: Logis Dispatch’s Auto-plan functionality instantly calculates ETAs based on your fleet's availability and sends them back into Roundtrip automatically.
  • Key Ride Information At Your Fingertips: Medical necessity and physician certification statements are sent directly to Logis, and more accurate patient data leads to easier billing.
  • Centralization of All Rides: Keep track of all your rides across multiple facilities and decrease distracting phone-in requests to dispatch.
  • Less Human Error: Patient information is pulled directly from the hospital EHR and automatically sent to Logis, removing the need for manual input.
  • Easily Manage Fleet Operations: Assign and reassign rides to your fleet with the click of a button, maximizing fleet productivity.

  • Real-Time Status Updates: Ride Bookers and Care Coordinators can easily monitor the patient’s ride with up-to-date ride status updates.
  • Improved Ride Detail Visibility: Vehicle map tracking keeps you informed of vehicle locations* and shows specific driver details, including first and last name.
    • *This is dependent upon your company’s vehicle locator/GPS technology.
  • Systematic Timeliness Data Capture: Care Coordinators no longer need to manually track pickup and drop-off times. Actual ride status timestamps track timeliness and ensure SLAs are met.

Configuration Options with Your Logis Integration

Workflow Configurations

With your Logis integration, there are two key workflow decisions that must be made during the implementation process:

  • Auto-planning Functionality: Your company may decide whether or not to implement the auto-plan functionality within Logis or not. This decision will impact how ride data flows into your CAD and how your dispatch team responds to available rides.
  • Auto-Assign Community Logic: This decision is made by the booking organization and impacts the final dispatcher workflow. If the booking organization selects your company as their auto-assign provider, the workflow with Logis will differ compared to the General Community Logic experience.

Depending on the outcome of these decisions, the experience with your Logis integration may vary.

Data Mapping Configurations

With a Logis integration, mapping locations for specific data points can vary. There is some flexibility in how your company may choose to map Roundtrip data points to Logis. These mappings can be discussed in greater detail during the implementation process.

How Does the Logis Integration Work? (Auto-Plan On)

Workflow Overview for Auto-Assign Providers

If your company is the auto-assigned provider for an organization and you have auto-plan enabled within your Logis instance, this graphic will provide an overview of how the integration will work throughout the lifecycle of a ride:

Workflow Overview for General Community Providers

If your company is a general community provider for any organizations within your service area, the workflow for your Logis integration may look a little different than the workflow outlined above. If your company has auto-plan enabled within your Logis instance, this graphic will provide an overview of how the integration will work throughout the lifecycle of a ride:

Responding to Available Rides in Roundtrip (Auto-Plan On)

If your Logis instance has auto-plan enabled, this feature will automatically respond to available rides on your company’s behalf based on your availability.

The experience within Logis will vary slightly depending on whether your company is the auto-assigned provider for the booking organization or not:

The ride details will automatically flow into Logis once booked within Roundtrip. The auto-plan functionality will automatically respond to the ride within Roundtrip on your company’s behalf depending on your availability. If an ETA is submitted, the ride will automatically plan onto an available vehicle within Logis.

The ride details will automatically flow into Logis once booked within Roundtrip. The auto-plan functionality will automatically respond to the ride within Roundtrip on your company’s behalf depending on your availability.

Once an ETA is submitted, the ride then will go into the open work queue or “basement” within Logis until the community window closes.

If the ride is awarded to your company, it will automatically be assigned to your company within the Roundtrip Portal, and the ride will be automatically planned onto a vehicle within your Logis instance.

Managing Rides within Logis (Auto-Plan On)

Once the ride details have flowed into Logis, your dispatch team can begin managing the ride from within the CAD:

  1. With auto-plan on, this functionality will automatically plan the ride onto an available vehicle within Logis.
  1. As the ride is completed – update the Ride Status to reflect the current status of the transport.
  1. As Ride Statuses are updated in Logis, they will automatically be updated in Roundtrip.
  1. Once the ride is completed, mark the transport as Complete. The ride status will be automatically updated in Roundtrip as well.

Responding to Available Rides in Roundtrip (Auto-Plan Off)

With a Logis integration, Dispatchers will still need to respond to available rides within Roundtrip. Once a ride becomes available, Dispatchers will be able to submit an ETA or decline rides based on your company’s availability.

The experience within Logis will vary slightly depending on whether your company is the auto-assigned provider for the booking organization or not:

If the ride is awarded to your company, the ride details will then automatically flow into Logis through the integration. Your dispatch team can then assign the ride to a specific vehicle within Logis (more on this below).

Managing Rides within Logis (Auto-Plan Off)

Once the ride details have flowed into Logis, your dispatch team can begin managing the ride from within the CAD:

  1. Rides will be available in the open work queue or “basement” within Logis. You can then assign the ride to an available vehicle within Logis.
