How to Search for or Add Riders in Roundtrip
Overview of how to search for existing riders and add new riders.
Searching for Existing Riders under the “Riders” Tab
To view a specific rider's profile, use the search function under the "Riders" tab. You can search by the rider's name or MRN/Member ID (if permitted by your organization). This search function enables you to search for riders in all groups within your organization that you have access to, in a single action.
After finding the correct rider, click on the row where they are listed to access their Rider Profile. If you want to book a trip for them, click the "Book" button to start the Booking Flow.
- Note: When booking a ride, ensure that your current group aligns with the rider's group, as shown in the upper right corner. If the groups are not aligned, you won't be able to book a ride.

Searching for Existing Riders under Step 1 of Booking Flow
If you’re launching the Booking Flow from the “Trips” tab, you’ll arrive at Step 1 to search for your rider. Similar to the search function on the “Riders” tab, this search function enables you to search for riders in all groups within your organization that you have access to. You can search by the rider’s name or other criteria such as MRN or Member ID if your organization allows.

Once you’ve found the rider you’re looking for, simply click the appropriate search result for the rider to advance to Step 2 of the Booking Flow. If there’s multiple results, you can also click “View All Results” to view all relevant riders matching your search criteria on the “Riders” tab.

Adding New Riders under the “Riders” Tab
In some cases, your rider may not yet be added to Roundtrip. If your organization allows, you may have the option to add your rider manually. Many organizations do not allow their users to manually add riders, however. This is especially true if your organization sends patient data to Roundtrip via an EHR integration, eligibility file, or Patient Admin API. Follow this article for more guidance.
If your organization allows the manual creation of riders, you will see the “Add Rider” button visible under the “Riders” tab. Click this button to begin adding a new Rider Profile.
- Note: Always search for an existing profile for your rider before adding a new profile. Duplicate profiles can skew data and result in confusion for other users.

You will then be prompted to enter key details to create the Rider Profile. Complete the requested fields with the rider’s information. Depending on your organization’s settings, you may be prompted to enter an MRN for the rider - this is to more easily reference the rider’s profile within your organization’s EHR.

Once all fields are completed, click “Save & Book” to proceed and create the new Rider Profile.
Adding New Riders under Step 1 of Booking Flow
Similar to the process outlined above, you may be able to add new riders within Step 1 of the Booking Flow if your organization allows manual rider creation. If you’re launching the Booking Flow from the “Trips” tab, you’ll arrive at Step 1 to search for your rider. You may have the option to add a new rider if:
- You searched for your rider and there were no matching results. Click “+Add Rider” to proceed with creating a new profile.
- There is a persistent “Add New Rider” button on this page (if your organization allows manual rider creation).
- Note: Always search for an existing profile for your rider before adding a new profile. Duplicate profiles can skew data and result in confusion for other users.

In either case, these buttons will direct you to a page where you’ll be prompted to enter key details to create the Rider Profile. Complete the requested fields with the rider’s information. Depending on your organization’s settings, you may be prompted to enter an MRN for the rider - this is to more easily reference the rider’s profile within your organization’s EHR.

Once all fields are completed, click “Save & Book” to create the new Rider Profile and proceed with the Booking Flow.
